Sonic RPG is back for the 9th instalment of the famous role play game! Take on Seelkadoom in an entirely new gaming system, which is more action-orientated than the previous episodes and has a long battle, which demands a combination of combat skills and strategic thinking. String together Shadow’s skills and alternate between 3 strategic modes for your teammates (defense/normal/aggressive) so that Knuckles and NiGHTS perform their best attacks at the opportune moment. Sonic RPG 9 is also interspersed with animated scenes that draw on the Sonic series, much to the delight of its biggest fans!
Story (Game Version)[]
Following the events of Sonic RPG 8, Super Shadow is the last one standing against Seelkadoom after the latter defeated Super Sonic. Seelkadoom shows Super Shadow the Chaos Emeralds, which he had all along from the beginning!
While Super Shadow was fighting Seelkadoom, Knuckles and NiGHTS come in for the party. Seelkadoom then dared them to fight him, much to the red echidna's anger, leading to an RPG battle!
Despite Knuckles' strength, NiGHTS' magic, and Super Shadow's power and speed, they were no match for Seelkadoom. Before Seelkadoom could claim his victory, he felt unusual power from Sonic, who was getting up. Enraged by his friends' conditions, Sonic once again became Super Sonic. However, knowing that his Super form can't beat his opponent, but finding out that the Sapphire has the same properties like the Master Emerald back in their dimension, Super Sonic absorbed the energy from the blue diamond, and used it to reach another level. Seelkadoom was enraged, while Shadow was shocked, couldn't believe that Sonic became Hyper!
Seelkadoom was ticked off, while Sonic gave him (and the players/viewers) a smirk.
Story (Movie Version)[]
Shadow explains that Dr. Eggman, Sonic's arch-enemy, had created an 'Abomination' who named himself, Seelkadoom, trying to succeed his grandfather, also known as the deceased Gerald Robotnik. However, after Eggman created him, he became a loner, so the doctor not only sent him, but also Sonic, Shadow, and Knuckles into another dimension! Along the way, they met NiGHTS, and they had countless battles from Ristar, to the Ancient Beast, to Reala, to finally Seelkadoom himself. After Shadow and NiGHTS defeated Reala and cured Knuckles, NiGHTS gave Shadow the Sapphire, which finally granted him a Super form. Shadow then finally explained how he thought that he and Sonic got the upper hand, however Seelkadoom overpowered the both of them, despite their combined power and speed. Now that Super Sonic is defeated, they got back where they started...

Back at Mobius, Tails gets the Master Emerald back from Dr. Eggman after the events of Sonic RPG 6. Tails then asked Eggman if he was responsible for Sonic's disappearance. The doctor explains that Sonic (also Knuckles, Shadow, and Seelkadoom) are no longer in Mobius, and that he sent them into another dimension. Tails doesn't want to believe it, but knowing that Eggman tried many times to defeat Sonic, it could be true. That's when Amy Rose destroyed the front door, angrily asking Eggman 'Where's my Sonic?'. Tails was shockingly confused that Amy was here, while Eggman was horrified, afraid of the pink hedgehog's anger.
Back at Herbegitan, in Reala's Castle, Super Shadow and Seelkadoom were about to clash again when Knuckles and NiGHTS showed up from the skies. Shadow asked them why were they here. Knuckles states 'We couldn't just let you have all the fun, could we'?'. As for NiGHTS, he explains that all he was doing was standing and watching, while Sonic, Shadow, and Knuckles were risking their lives for his dimension and that he couldn't allow a monster to conquer his world. Seelkadoom laughs, asking them if they could make a difference. When he saw their faces, he dared them to fight him, while stating 'I'll carve upon your flesh, just how hopeless the very thought of defeating me really is'. Knuckles was ticked off and charged at the evil hedgehog, despite NiGHTS' warning.
The red echidna tried to punch Seelkadoom, only for the evil hedgehog to dodge his attack. Seelkadoom then charged at Knuckles and defeated him in one-hit. NiGHTS was enraged of Knuckles' condition and flew after Seelkadoom, despite Super Shadow's warning. Before NiGHTS could do anything, the evil hedgehog charged at him without warning. Despite using his magic to create a shield, Seelkadoom defeated NiGHTS at one-hit as well. Super Shadow was shocked and enraged of his friends' conditions, even more angry when Seelkadoom asked 'Shall you remain cowering down there, even in your final moments?'. The Ultimate Lifeform then charged his chaos energy and flew up to the sky to battle Seelkadoom. Despite that Super Shadow was holding Seelkadoom off, he still wasn't strong enough to defeat him. After the evil hedgehog punched him, Shadow sends a Chaos Spear at him. It seems that Seelkadoom was damaged, only for the evil hedgehog to appear from the smoke and grabbing Shadow's face. Seelkadoom sent him all the way back to Reala's Castle, making Shadow crash landing the ground. The evil hedgehog leaped out of the destruction, while Super Shadow tried to get up. However, because the Sapphire got out of him and was already highly damaged by the evil hedgehog, Super Shadow revert back to his normal base form, defeated. Seelkadoom laughed, happy that no one was left to oppose him... Or so he thought.
